Assignment 2

I am outside, in the cool damp weather, here alongside the inner yard of my aunt’s house. A short rainfall has just past by and I am heading over to the vines right on the fence. First, what I come across is the neighbors miniature dogs, is this really what I should write about, not so much. They are adorable, but not what to focus on at the moment. So, I take in  the utter silence of nature, and look even closer and capture what to be my main objective a caterpillar. I wonder, do I really see them around rarely anywhere? Not exactly, but this is a first and I am up for a new insight. Looking at it from its natural state, I see the cool colors it wears, all black and with orange blotches. Is it poisonous? Harmless? What I do next, is gently put my fingers along its back, its cold and motionless. Maybe from its perspective, it’s like, “who is that? Will it harm me? Its curious eyes keep glancing back at me, should I do tricks and entertain it, or keep it safe and act as if I’m invisible and keep still?" From my knowledge about caterpillars, is they have two ends, weird. Though, they are the ones who leave little nibbles on plants. Like little ninjas that are in disguise and ready to be camouflaged. Nature itself is a big question mark. Do these little fellows, use leaves to act like boats to cross big puddles of water? This would be quite an adventure to experience. How do insects in general live? Do they talk to one another when they come across path, and say “Hey, how’s it going?” Like humans do. Or do a courteous smile, if it’s even possible. So many questions, yet few answered. This is what I consider the circle of life, and what we have more to learn about.

About Me

Hello everyone.
My name is Elisa, and I may be a quirky person, when we first meet off. Since this whole college experience had me a little shaky. But people, usually consider me a person who is sweet like a sugary little peep, and a person with a sense of humor. Why you may consider studying here at FGCU? Well, first off, I’ve been raised here in Fort Myers, FL my whole life. To me, it’s a great area to be settled into; there are lots to do here. I volunteer at the local YMCA, and help out during summer camp! A thing to note about kids: have patience!  Also, I work part-time at Subway. As for commuting to campus, that will kick me in the butt, though I doubt it will be that bad. I come from a Latino background, so I love Soccer! It’s a universal game and my main favorite soccer players are: RONALDO, MESSI, KAKA, and VILLA! Where are my soccer fans/players at? A top song on mines is: Waka Waka from Shakira and Wavin’ flag by K’naan. On my free time, I enjoy painting! My greatest inspiration is Pablo Picasso. I have two pets: a dog and a cat. I adopted both from a rescue shelter. There’s Lobo, a black Lab, and Michi my cat. A random fact about me is that I picked my major as Bioengineering from taking physics class back in high school. A cool former teacher of mines, Dr. Klein, is a brilliant guy and he left off to me in a quote: “Let the force be with you, all throughout college!” Pretty cheesy, but very reassuring and confident to take with me. Science and me have always gotten along, though I’m not sure what is to come ahead, but I am ready for the challenge! So, that is pretty much sums it up, I cannot wait to meet my fellow classmates!
